Ian Manners is Canadian and British. He was born in London, England and, after receiving his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in the UK he conducted postdoctoral work in Germany and then in the USA. He joined the University of Toronto, Canada as an Assistant Professor in 1990 and was promoted to Full Professor in 1995 and was made a Canada Research Chair in 2001. In 2006 he returned to the UK to take up a Chair at the University of Bristol in Inorganic, Macromolecular and Materials Chemistry supported by an EU Marie Curie Chair. In 2018 he was awarded a Canada 150 Research Chair at the University of Victoria, Canada on Vancouver Island where he has set up a new research group.He also holds a visiting professorship at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China.He is an elected member of both the Canadian and the British National Academies of Science and also the European Academy of Science (EURASC).

The research work on photocatalysis by Professor Ohtani started in 1981 when he was a Ph. D. course student in Kyoto University. Since then he has been studying photocatalysis and related topics for more than 30 years and published more than 300 original papers (h-index: 71) and two single-author books. After gaining his Ph. D. degree from Kyoto University in 1985, he became an assistant professor in the university. In 1996, he was promoted to an associate professor in Division of Chemistry, Graduate School of Science, Hokkaido University and was then awarded a full professor position in the Catalysis Research Center (presently Institute for Catalysis), Hokkaido University in 1998. For the education of graduate students, Professor Ohtani's laboratory has belonged to the Graduate School of Environmental Science, Hokkaido University since 1999. Dr. Osman Adiguzel graduated from Department of Physics, Ankara University, Turkey in 1974 and received PhD- degree from Dicle University, Diyarbakir-Turkey. He studied at Surrey University, Guildford, UK, as a post doctoral research scientist in 1986-1987, and his studies focused on shape memory alloys. He worked as research assistant, 1975-80, at Dicle University and shifted to Firat University in 1980. He became professor in 1996, and he has been retired due to the age limit of 67; following academic life of 45 years. He published over 60 papers in international and national journals; He joined over 120 conferences and symposia in international and national level as Plenary Speaker, Keynote Speaker, Invited speaker, speaker or Poster presenter. Prof. Mahmoud Abdel-Atyis the former vice-President of African Academy of Sciences and Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at Applied Science University, Kingdom of Bahrain. Vladimir V. Rumyantsev is Head of Department of Theory of Complex Systems Dynamic Properties at A.A. Galkin Donetsk Institute for Physics and Engineering (DonIPE). He is Professor of Theoretical Physics and Nanotechnology Department at Donetsk National University (DonNU). He received PhD in Theoretical Physics (1988) from DonNU and Dr. Sci. in Condensed Matter Physics (2007) from DonIPE. Prof. Rumyantsev has authored/co-authored 4 books, 2 chapters in books and more than 300 scientific publications. He is a member of the American Physical Society as well as Mediterranean Institute of Fundamental Physics (MIFP, Italy) and Editor-in-Chiff of Journal of Photonic Materials and Technology (Science PG, USA). Research Interest Current research interests include various aspects of solid state physics, crystallooptics, photonics; more particularly - theoretical study of the effects of disorder in quasi-two-dimensional nanofilms and layered structures caused by the propagation of electromagnetic and acoustic excitations, photonics of imperfect structures and dispersion of electromagnetic excitations in non-ideal lattices of coupled microcavities containing quantum dots.

Professor Sapogin now lives in Moscow, Russia. He began in 1954 to study in Taganrog Radio-technical University and graduated (Dept. of solid state physics) in 1959. He served during his military service from 1959 to 1972 at Ministry of Defence as the scientific adviser. Candidate of science (1966). He maintained (1971) the doctor degree in Leningrad State University. In 1972 to 1985, he was the Head of Theoretical Department in Russia Academy of Science. Since 1985 till present he is the Head of Physical Department of Technical University – MADI (Moscow Auto and Highway Construction Inst.). He is the author (or coauthor) of numerous (over 200) published scientific articles, 4 books, school supplies. He obtained (with V.Boichenko), first, very important scientific result: calculating (with accuracy more 0.3%) of the electrical electron charge and of the fine structure constant -1/137. He published (2005) in USA and Russia (together with Prof. Yu.Ryabov and V.Boichenko) the book named “Unitary Quantum Theory and New Source of Energy”. Together with Ryabov he calculated mass spectrum of elementary particles and mass bozon Higgs - 131.7 GeV. Professor L.Sapogin - academic of Russian Academy of Natural Science and World Academy of Complex Safety. He was honored with 7 medals and Orders. In addition to his interests in science and classical music, Professor L.Sapogin has an interest in mountaineering. He is a Vice President and a Fellow of the Academy of Engineers in Poland. Olég Figóvsky Israeli inventor, D.Sc. in Materials Engineering (Nanotechnology, Composite Materials), academician of EAS, RAASN and REA. Amrane Abdeltif is currently Director of Technological Institute of Rennes and Research in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering and Bioengineering. Research thematics: The removal of recalcitrant organic pollutants in Air and Wastewater. Dr Azeez Abdullah Barzinjy: was born in Erbil-Iraq. He received his BSc. (Physics) and M.Sc. Dr. Melinda David is a researcher at the Faculty of Medicine, Transilvania University of Brasov, Romania and finished her PhD in 2017 in the field of Physics - Biophysics. Areas of interest are the development and characterization of sensors and enzyme-based electrochemical biosensors using commercial and in lab synthesized nanostructures: biologically synthesized metallic nanoparticles, functionalization of carbon based nanostructures and electrospinning of various nanofibers.Another area is of interest is the interaction of biomolecules with the synthesized nanostructures. She graduated in Jun 2015 with Honor; she is holder of a degree in Ecosystem Pathology. Her thesis was titled “Biomonitoring of air Quality using Moss to Detect Lead; case of Tlemcen, Algeria". Throughout her academic journey and professional career, she has been involved in different environmental sectors such as; pollution control and hazards, water treatment processes and analysis, nature protection and conservation, pollution audits for major corporations. Dr Che Azurahanim Che Abdullah (Dr CACA) is currently the Head of the Nanomaterial Synthesis and Characterization Lab at Universiti Putra Malaysia and an Associate Professor of Nanobiophysics in the Faculty of Science. Her research is concentrated at the interface of nanotechnology and biology. Additionally, she possesses an exceptional ability at the interface of material science (nanotechnology), agricultural science, and biotechnology, which will be critical in the twenty-first century on both a scientific and economic level. She developed into a self-sufficient researcher. She is the primary supervisor of 11 postgraduate students and has published papers in prestigious international journals. She received more than RM500,000 in total research funding as the project's leader. She has served as an ambassador for international conferences, a member of the technical program committee, an editorial board member, and a reviewer for a number of journals. She is frequently invited to speak at seminars, workshops, and conferences on a local and international level. She has received numerous honors, including the Young Educator Award, a Visiting Fellowship at Universitas Airlangga, an ACP lectureship award Japan, and a Global Asian Women2Win fellowship. Additionally, she is involved in a variety of youth and community projects (mobility and science) on a local and international level. As she became more involved in science, she became convinced that the academic community owed it to the public to engage in research, be receptive to novel ideas, and dedicated to the advancement of others. As an accomplished researcher, she currently serves as the director of the NANOTEDD (www.nanotedd.com) research group, which was formed to initiate and promote research activities. To date, her research efforts have resulted in the publication of over 50 peer-reviewed articles and over 30 presentations of her work at national and international levels. Professor Ghassan Saffarini, staff member at the Department of Physics at An-Najah was born in Tulkarem in 1955 . He is also a researcher whose research mainly tackled condensed matter physics and radiation physics. Most of his research was published in international scientific journals with good impact factor. In 1977, Prof. Saffarini obtained his BSc in Physics from the University of Jordan and got his M.Sc in Physics from the Victoria University of Manchester in 1980. He also obtained his PhD in condensed matter physics from Brunel University London. In 1997, he became an associate professor and a full professor in 2003.

After spending some years in France in several leading research centres, he is currently research fellow at University of Pisa. Associate Professor Greening is Head of Molecular Proteomics and Helen Amelia Hains Fellow at Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, and group leader at La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science, La Trobe University. He leads an innovative research program that seeks to identify mechanisms of cell communication through secreted factors and extracellular vesicles (EVs), and their capacity to regulate various pleiotropic biological processes of target cells through horizontal transfer of protein, DNA and RNA species between cells. This capability highlights their potential as novel targets for disease intervention, drug development and therapeutic applications. Not surprisingly, EVs (exosomes and microparticles among other types of EVs) have emerged as biomarkers for disease diagnosis and prognosis and are being constructed as targeted therapeutics. Associate Professor Greening undertook his PhD at The University of Melbourne and Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, with further post-doctoral fellowship training at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research, focused on proteomics, biomarker discovery and protein chemistry, and Institute for Systems Biology (USA) and La Trobe University on cell signalling biology, large-data bioinformatics, protein networks, and systems biology.
